Description

An entry level Fused Deposition Modeling (aka Fused Filament Fabrication) 3D printer. The small print area, easy user interface, and relatively low-maintenance construction makes it perfect for beginners and making small parts.

NOTE: These materials are not a substitute for hands-on training with an experienced user.

Notes

  • Clean bed with isopropyl alcohol wipes before and after use.
  • Take care not to damage the heater bed when removing parts. Use plastic spatulas only.
  • If your print fails to start, or pauses inexplicably part way through:
    • Verify you are using a Kingston 2GB microSD card, or a microSD card that came from Monoprice.
    • Format the microSD card as FAT or FAT32.

MicroSD Card Requirements:

  • 2GB works best. 16GB or larger will not work.
  • Formatted as FAT or FAT32.

Operation Instructions

Changing the Filament

Removing Filament
  1. Preheat the nozzle to filament temperature.
  2. Press filament tension lever.
  3. Slightly push in filament (about 0.1"), then pull out filament.
  4. Release filament tension lever.
  5. Store filament in a plastic bag with desiccant.
Inserting Filament
  1. Preheat the nozzle to filament temperature.
  2. Cut end of filament to a point.
  3. Press filament tension lever.
  4. Push filament in until the filament extrudes from the nozzle.
  5. Release filament tension lever.
